I don’t understand some people

Filed under: odds and ends, huh?, me

Today, while at the laundrymat, I witnessed just about the most inappropriate thing ever.  Two guys were there with a little girl, who was probably between 2 and 3 years old.  They were speaking spanish and at first I didn’t pay too much attention to them. But while putting my stuff in a dryer, I heard some of what they were saying.  Now, just by looking at me, no one is not going to assume right away that I can speak Spanish, so I’m sure they just figured they could say whatever they wanted and I wouldn’t have a clue what they were saying..  But I’ve got a buttload of student loans from my time at Western to show that I spent quite a few years learning to do exactly that.

But I digress.  I happened to hear these guys say the word puta, which means whore.  At first, I thought maybe they were talking about me.  Then I realized that they were teaching the little girl to say it, then laughing like crazy about it.  That is just so wrong, on so many levels.  Seriously, what is amusing about teaching a small child a nasty word like that.  Some people are really screwed up.
